The Calvet calorimeter

For Capable Calorimetry, from sub-ambient temperatures

Like the other calorimeters in the Calvet range, the Calvet Cryo uses innovative 3D sensors. These sensors, consisting of a network of thermocouples surrounding the measuring cells, ensure complete detection of heat around the sample. Find out more information.

The Calvet Cryo calorimeter is equipped with a cooling system which, depending on the cryogenic fluid used, enables operation at temperatures down to -196°C. It can also accommodate a wide variety of cells, each offering specific functions such as batch, semi-batch or continuous mixing, stirring, pressure resistance, and pressure measurement and regulation. The possibilities are endless.

Thus, the Calvet Cryo enables users to carry out precise and diversified measurements, covering studies on heat capacity, mixing, transitions, reactions and decompositions of solids and liquids.

    Why is it Unique?

    • HIGHEST HEAT MEASUREMENT ACCURACY

3D sensor based on thermocouples with Joule effect calibration

    • SUB-AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OPERATIONS

with solutions adapted to your need down to as low as -196°C

    • ISOTHERMAL OR TEMPERATURE SCANNING MODES

for increased flexibility and replication of real life conditions up to 200 °C

    • CONVENIENT INTERCHANGEABLE CELLS

to perform even the most demanding experiments using one instrument :
      • high pressure (up to 1000 bar) and high vacuum
      • pressure measurement and control
      • mixing/stirring experiments

    Applications

Calvet Cryo’s ability to operate at low temperatures and high pressures makes it particularly useful for studies into maintaining the flow of petroleum fluids in pipelines, process safety, and specialty cements. It is also used to study freezing and crystallization phenomena at very low temperatures for products such as oils, polymers and emulsions. Calvet Cryo also stands out for its excellent accuracy in measuring heat capacity (Cp).
